about

This music was recorded in one take on a warm early afternoon in February 2021 in between Covid lockdowns in Melbourne, Australia.

George and I wanted to explore our musical conversations within the electro-acoustic medium. We had only ever played acoustically before this.
We came together for an afternoon of improvised music making, we were both ecstatic that we were able to play again after a year of Covid lockdowns.
We had no plan aside from creating a space that was respectful of each other, one that was meditative, reflective and based on active listening.

We had chai and incense in the room - a room filled with musical instruments, cables and audio equipment, artwork and ideas.

We played for 2 sessions, breaking between to reflect and discuss anything technical, musical and conceptual. There was this amazing sense of finding something special - we were both grounded and elated after this 1.5 hour session.
There was a great respect in the room.

The concepts we discussed were abstract ideas to our improvisational journey. Ie. starting in space, allowing the floor to reveal, ending with waterfalls.

The music we play is based on our shared understanding and love for improvisation and esoteric concepts of both spontaneity, sound and space.

This music is 100% improvised, including the electronic programming that was done on the spot using the Synthstrom Deluge.
